Hey Reader!

Are you getting the most out of your long weekend? I hope you are!

A commenter left a heartfelt sentiment as a comment on the @AnEquineJourney youTube channel.

I'm not sure if the video headline played into the comment but it was the Short titled:

Why Horses? What's the Attraction?!

The comment?

"I love animals more than people. Seriously"

Maybe you've felt that way. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

I know I have!

So, what is it about animals that would make us say something like that? ๐Ÿค”

Well, I can think of a couple of things.

I've had many dogs in my life. ๐Ÿถ

The thing that was so amazing about them is unconditional love. They didn't ask me for anything other than food and shelter and, in return, they gave me their hearts ๐Ÿ’

My last dog, for sure, cared very specifically for my well-being. She was so attuned to any of my looks at her or in any direction, any sound I made, ...and her life revolved around my happiness!

Sadly she had cancer and, despite several operations, we eventually could not fix her afflictions. It was the saddest day of my life when we had to let her go. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

...but dogs are predators and will likely come running and follow you everywhere! ๐Ÿ•

What about horses then? ๐Ÿด ๐Ÿค”

Here's the thing, horses are prey animals and very different. ...but when you're around them they are in the moment.

They react to things that happen in the moment. They don't plot and plan. (Their brain doesn't have the capacity to do so!)

Horses don't judge people (but they'll certainly react negatively if treated poorly!).

They don't criticize people.

They don't have fragile egos that are pumped up by bullying and putting others down.

They are just horses, living as horses do, in the moment.

Who doesn't want unconditional love? ๐Ÿค”

Who doesn't want a life without judgement and criticism? ๐Ÿคจ

Who doesn't want a life without bullying and put-downs? ๐Ÿง

It's possible for people to be more like horses, by leaving their ego out of situations, by being in the moment, by not judging others, by not criticizing them, but by accepting them for who or what they are and moving forward from there.

Of course, this is easier said than done! ๐Ÿคช

...but it's still worth trying to do! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿค

What do you think about this?

If you thoughts about any of this, I'd love to hear from you!

...and until I hear from you, stay well and take care...
