Hey Reader!

Happy New Year! 🥳 I hope you enjoyed a fun end to 2025 and that 2026 is beginning well for you!

What I'm about to say sounds like it's off-topic ...but it's not!

I looove learning new languages and Spanish is one that I've learned quite a lot of!

In December I came across a Spanish word I hadn't encountered before! The word was 'meta'. Hmm... 🤔

If you don't already know this, it might surprise you to learn that 'meta' means goal!

So, right away I thought of Facebook's new name a few years back (META) and wondered if Spanish influenced that name 🤷🏻‍♀️

Speaking of goals, this is typically the time of year where people set up some goals for the upcoming year and I thought I'd share mine with you!

It's a little difficult to gauge what I'll be able to achieve this year as I'm not sure how 'able' I will be! My goals are loosely based on the idea that I'll be able to do everything I used to do, come next spring. 😅

I plan to spend the first 3 months of 2026 continuing to rehab my hip 🫤 ...more on that in upcoming emails.

My goals (remember, I always plan too much!) are broken into 3 areas:

1. Personal (rehab, and a Secret goal that I might let you in on if it pans out)
2. Horse Stuff (virtual/online)
   1. Finish at least one online course
   2. Continue with the YouTube Channel
      1. Get the podcast going again (but on YouTube now?) I used to have a podcast but it went on hiatus when I got long Covid the end of 2022, and I haven't really had a chance to get it back on track yet.
3. Horse Stuff (physical)
   1. Revisit learned skills with my young mare (can I even call her 'young' anymore? ...let's say 'green')
   2. Try riding my well-trained mare (have to see how my rehabbed hip responds 🤔)
   3. Start my green, un-started mare under saddle (if I'm physically able to do so)
   4. Have my green mare loading and trailering (with confidence)
      1. Have someone, who shares my same beliefs, start her under saddle for me if I'm physically unable to.
